Mission
  • The Mission of the Daughter of Mary Congregation is, by being pure and poor for the kingdom of God. We endeavor to serve the poor and oppressed to improve their spiritual, social, psychological and physical well being, through specialized interventions such as Mission, Education, Health and Social Work.
  • To maximize our strengths in order to achieve success in our mission outcomes and to offer quality community services through collaborative partnership and networking within the community.
  • To serve the community in the spirit of our founders and in keeping with the guidelines of our constitution.
  • To be open to the needs of the Church, and make ourselves and our resources available to serve the community, in keeping with our community’s mission.
  • To visit families, care for the sick, assist in the parish ministry and social work.
Since its inception, the primary focus of the Daughters of Mary is devotion to Mary the Mother of Christ. The sisters follow the spirit of St Francis of Assisi. The general purpose of the congregation is to serve God's people for the greater glory of God and the spiritual growth of the individual.

They are involved in daily prayer, daily mass and missionary activities. In the words of Jesus in Lk. 14: 21-23 "Go out at once into the streets and lanes of the town, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame…. Go out to the roads and lanes, and compel people to come in, so that my house may be filled" We the sisters strive each day to make a difference to the lives of others. We share our faith with the community, especially the poor, the oppressed and the marginalized.

We work to alleviate suffering, by promoting human dignity and social justice and strive to alleviate poverty. Through prayer and community involvement, and a deep sense of joy we feel in serving others, we accomplish our mission.

Spirituality
As Daughters of Mary, we are consecrated by God the Father to dedicate ourselves to follow Jesus, pure as Mary and poor as St. Francis Assisi (Constitution No. 6). We are inspired by our founder who totally abandoned himself to the providence of God, also by the co-foundress who had deep intimacy with Jesus. The Good news preached by our Lord, the uncompromising fidelity of our Lady, the heroic zeal of the Apostles and the challenging example of St. Francis of Assisi are our patrimony and heritage (Constitution No.9).

Apostolate
Proclamation of the Word of God through visiting the families is the main Apostolate of the Congregation. Besides that, we are engaged in pastoral activities, education and health care mission, social service programmes, vocational training centers, rehabilitation programmes for the aged, handicapped, T.B and leprosy patients and orphans.
